Auckland complains the national collections are too far away, yet when you offer them to bring them closer, they start complaining again.<br /><br />The thing with cultural objects is many of them are unique, so as far as objects go, you aren't really in direct competition with other museums/art galleries. Though I guess there could be some competition in the 'experience' game.<br /><br />If Auckland wanted to be more hipster, they could use Wynyard Pt for 'pop-up' museums. Then each month there could be a different museum there - Auckland, Te Papa, Guggenheim...staplegunnoreply@blogger.com
